Second tier

Soul Linker

Second tier Base level 51 to 99 Taekwon line

While the Star Gladiator begins the process of distancing themselves from their roots in Taekwon Do, the Soul Linker wastes no time, abandoning them immediately and without hesitation.

Much like in vanilla, Soul Linkers are a class that operates by calling the souls of the dead back to the world of the living to push characters beyond the limits of their class. Unlike vanilla however, where the Soul Linker could provide these powerful buffs to anyone but themselves, Soul Linkers here can only provide those buffs to themselves.

The Soul Linker skill tree is divided into two halves based on which Soul Link they choose to associate themselves with. Vicious Possession grants the Soul Linker powerful physical buffs, turning ordinarily magical stats like Int and Dex into powerful Crit and Crit Damage buffs, while unlocking skills to do physical damage, block physical attacks, and restore SP to allies (including themselves). In contrast, Arcane Possession does the opposite, converting Strength and Vitality into Cast Time Reduction and SP Regeneration, unlocking powerful magical attacks, a strong healing skill usable on both allies and themselves, and a skill to reflect any magic damage received.

Fledgling Soul Linkers may find themselves a bit perplexed at their skill tree, however. Though they gain access to rather powerful abilities very quickly, all Soul Linker skills come with heavy cooldowns that make leveling alone quite challenging. The gap left by these long cooldowns are filled by the unique weapon available to Soul Linkers: Souls.

Souls are weapons that give varied amounts of Attack and Magic Attack, but most importantly, they provide access to a number of skills from other classes. For example, a Soul Linker might equip a Knight Soul to gain access to the Knight skills Rend, Pierce, and Brandish Spear. Or they might prefer going a magical route, equipping a Wizard Soul to gain access to Storm Gust, Force Pulse, and Rapid Incantation. Keen eyed adventurers might even come across more unique Souls, granting access to skills only available to monsters , and sometimes not available at all, except for by those Souls.

The huge array of available skills and the ability to equip up to three of them at a time grants Soul Linkers an unprecedented level of flexibility, giving them the tools to take on any situation another class might handle.

Soul Linkers gain access to the following skills.

Skill names and effects are kept in English because that is how they appear in game.

VulnerableSlowWhat these do
  • Soul Harmony

Mastery. Increases the user's Hit Rate and reduces the user's Variable Cast Time while wielding a Soul class weapon. Souls typically give additional Skills as a Mastery bonus.

  • Vicious Possession

The user calls on the soul of a bloodthirsty warrior to inhabit their body, borrowing a portion of their strength. Converts a portion of the user's Magic Attack into Physical Attack, and increases the user's Crit Rate and Crit Damage based on their Int and Dex. Only one Possession can be active at a time.

  • Spectral Thrust

The user unleashes a burst of spectral energy, striking and knocking away a targeted enemy. Deals Ghost property Physical damage with a chance to leave the target Vulnerable. Each level of Axe Kick learned increases the chance to inflict Vulnerability.

  • Spectral Claw

The user summons a wraith from beyond the grave to lash out at the target, dealing Ghost property Physical damage to them and all enemies in the area, leaving an open wound that makes them more susceptible to Physical damage for a short duration. This skill deals additional damage to enemies that are Vulnerable. The Physical Vulnerability effect is increased for each level of Tornado Kick learned by the user.

  • Spectral Veil

The user slips out of the realm of the living, making themselves immune to Physical damage for a single hit. If this skill ends because it blocked an attack, the user restores a portion of their Max HP based on the currently learned level of Counter Kick.

  • Spectral Toll

The user pulls their own soul closer to the realm of the dead, turning themselves into a conduit that allows power from beyond the grave to flow back into the world of the living. Rapidly drains the user's HP for a short duration, restoring SP for a targeted ally at the same time. The amount of HP consumed is reduced by the level of Roundhouse Kick learned by the user.

  • Arcane Possession

The user invites the soul of a powerful mystic to inhabit their body, drawing on a portion of their knowledge. Converts a portion of the user's Physical Attack into Magic Attack, and reduces the users Variable Cast Time and increases their SP Regen based on their Str and Vit. Only one Possession can be active at a time.

  • Soul Pressure

Calls on a vengeful soul to suppress an enemy, dealing Ghost property Magic damage and attempting to Slow them. Slow chance is influenced by the user's learned level of Axe Kick.

  • Soul Convergence

Summons a horde of vengeful souls to a targeted enemy, dealing Ghost property magic damage to them and to all enemies in the area around them. This skill deals additional damage to enemies that are Slowed. Enemies struck by the attack are left vulnerable to Magic damage for a short duration. The strength of the Magic Damage Vulnerability is influenced by the learned level of Tornado Kick.

  • Soul Mirror

Summons a protective spirit to shield the user from harmful magic, turning it back on its source. If this skill ends because it reflected an attack, the user regenerates a percentage of their Max SP based on the learned level of Counter Kick.

  • Soul Reshaping

The user calls on a benign spirit that feeds off their SP to rapidly restore health to an ally over time. The amount of SP consumed by this skill is reduced by the learned level of Roundhouse Kick.
