45 bosses
Every boss sits behind an altar on one map. To open it you hand over one of two lists. Option 1 is usually a pile of ordinary drops from that map. Option 2 is a handful of items that only champion monsters carry, marked in gold below. Plenty of altars offer just one of the two.

Since 12 August you have to be in a party to open an altar, even a party of one. The boss then belongs to that party: nobody outside it can hit it, and it will not hit them either. The plants it leaves behind belong to the same party. What changes with a second person is how hard the boss is to kill, not how hard it hits you.
Instanced bosses use the same curve. Challenge mode uses half of it: 20, 30, 40 and 50%. Raid bosses do not scale at all, and that is on purpose. Twilight's reason for the whole thing, the day before he shipped it: an MVP “stops being content after a third person joins the party, and it's just exchange relics for a lootbox”.
