Second tier

Rogue

Second tier Base level 51 to 99 Thief line

Rogue is the secondary advancement option for the Thief. While the Assassin turns its efforts towards putting out raw damage supplemented by the Status Effects offered by their Thief roots, the Rogue focuses primarily on putting those Status Effects , and as many others as possible , to good use.

Similar to the Assassin Blade Enchants, Rogues have access to two "Stance" skills: Predatory Instinct and Malicious Instinct. Unlike the Blade Enchants however, the Instincts suffer from a lengthy cooldown, and so most Rogues will find their playstyle dictated by their single Instinct of choice.

Predatory Instinct gives a bonus to the user's Blind and Vulnerable Potency. It builds into a variety of damage-oriented skills, where the application of statuses like Blind and Vulnerable serve to amplify their final damage, all while keeping the Rogue safe from harm. In addition, the Predatory Instinct Stance gives Rogues a bonus to Dexterity, the primary scaling stat for Predator side skills.

Malicious Instinct is more focused on applying a wide range of statuses, rather than direct damage. Though less consistent than Envenom and Sand Attack, these skills can apply up to a whopping six status effects in a very short time frame. Malicious Instinct also boosts the user's Luck, the scaling stat for Malicious side skills.

Finally, the Rogue has access to two more defensive skills that mesh equally well with both Instincts. Tunnel drive allows the Rogue to move while hiding, giving them the opportunity to reposition slightly while invulnerable, and also serves to increase Hiding's duration. Dramatic Exit cuts out the middleman of the equation, combining Hiding and Backslide into a single skill that also leaves behind a nasty surprise for enemies thinking to give chase.
