First tier

Thief

First tier Base level 1 to 50 Thief line

The Thief occupies a role somewhere between the Swordsman and the Merchant. With more than half of its skill tree dedicated to defensive options, Thieves are remarkably resilient even with their lower HP pools. Envenom and Dagger Mastery give them the ability to put out a stream of consistent damage over time, all while avoiding virtually all incoming damage, be it through Flee, or through their evasion skills in Hiding and Backslide.

Unfortunately, this survivability does not come without caveats. Hiding and Backslide can mitigate tremendous amounts of damage, but both come with heavy cooldowns, leaving the brunt of survivability to be carried by the Flee rate. This leaves Thieves uniquely vulnerable to enemies that use large amounts of magic, or that attack in large numbers. With no burst or AoE options, the Thief is forced to rely on their slow and steady DPS to deal with these tricky situations, giving their survivability a very "feast or famine" vibe.

Thieves have two key status effects: Poison and Blind.

Poison deals constant damage over time to enemies. This damage is based on the user's Agility, and scales up with their base level. Though they have few other damage options available, Poison allows the Thief to continue dealing damage to enemies even while weaving in and out of attacks, only needing to swoop back in for another hit every five or so seconds to keep the damage rolling.

Blind, while applied offensively, is generally more of a defensive status. Blind greatly reduces a target's Hit and Flee rate, thus making it easier to apply damage to them and harder for them to apply damage to you.
