Third tier

Rebel

Third tier Base level 100 to 150 Gunslinger line

Rebel is the primary advancement option for Gunslingers. As with the Gunslinger before them, the Rebel's kit focuses around rapidly switching between Revolvers, Rifles, and Shotguns to deliver a wide range of status effects, using them to maximize their damage potential. There are two primary ways that the Rebel advances this play style.

First, the Rebel gains two new skills for each of their core weapon types. These skills follow a familiar pattern to their original Gunslinger Skills: Revolver skills inflict Slow and benefit from striking Bleeding and Vulnerable targets, and so on. However, unlike their old Gunslinger skills, they gain additional effects if they strike enemies suffering from their own Status Effect. For example, the Revolver skill Disengage inflicts Slow, and deals additional damage to Vulnerable enemies, but if the enemy struck is already Slowed, it instead inflicts Internal Bleeding. This gives the Rebel the ability to pare down their skill rotations, focusing on one or two weapon types rather than relying on all three, but still rewarding them for going all out on the weapon swapping.

Secondly, the Rebel gains access to a new gun type to add to their arsenal: the Gatling Gun.

These unique weapons take a dedicated slot in the character's equipment window, where one might expect Shadow Weapons to be in vanilla RO, and so do not need to be included in the weapon-swapping frenzy that Gunslingers have already spent a hundred levels perfecting. Instead, they remain constantly equipped, giving their bonuses no matter what weapon the user has equipped, and only coming out to shine when their specific skills are called on.

On top of this, Gatling Guns operate with a new kind of Mastery unique to them and their Night Watch cousins. While most weapon types require a specific passive skill be learned to represent mastery over its use, Gatling Gun Masteries check how many skill points have been invested in any Gatling Gun related skill. This means that while Rebels can make efficient use of Gatling Guns by splashing their skills in amongst other weapon types, those who choose to invest heavily into their new weapon type will be rewarded with a much greater output than any of their other weapon types can offer, each skill point invested reducing the cooldowns of all Gatling Gun skills the user has access to.

BleedingVulnerableSlowWhat these do
  • Bullet Time

The user focuses all of their efforts on defense, enabling them to dodge incoming attacks with ease. Massively increases the user's Perfect Dodge, but reduces the user's movement speed for the duration. Does not stack with Gunslinger's Gambit.

  • Gunslinger's Gambit

The user focuses all of their efforts on offense, discarding any pretense of self preservation. For a short duration, all of the user's skills have their Cooldowns reduced to 1 second. This status ends after a certain number of skills are cast, and the user is immobilized until the duration expires or all stacks have been consumed. Does not stack with Bullet Time.

  • Disengage

Revolver Skill. The user fires a distracting shot with their pistols, creating an opening to remove themselves from a dangerous situation. Deals moderate physical damage to a single target, then the user immediately backslides. Has a chance to inflict the Slow Status. If the target is already Slowed, it instead inflicts the Internal Bleeding status. This skill does additional damage to Vulnerable enemies.

  • Rapid Blitz

Revolver Skill. The user dashes behind an enemy, delivering a quick hail of bullets into their back. Teleports behind a target before dealing moderate physical damage to them, with a chance to inflict the Slow status. If the target is already Slowed, instead inflicts the Vulnerable status. This skill deals additional damage to Bleeding enemies.

  • Penetrating Shot

Rifle Skill. The user fires a powerful round from their rifle, punching through the targeted enemy and any other enemies in a line behind them. Deals physical damage to all enemies in the targeted area with a chance to inflict the Vulnerable Status. Any enemy that is already Vulnerable is inflicted with the Internal Bleeding status instead. This skill gains bonus damage against Slowed enemies.

  • Burst Fire

Rifle Skill. The user fires a quick three round burst into the targeted enemy, dealing exceptional physical damage and inflicting the Vulnerable status. If the target is already suffering from the Vulnerable Status, it instead inflicts the Slow status. This skill gains bonus damage against Bleeding enemies.

  • Blazing Shell

Shotgun Skill. Unleashes a burst of flaming shrapnel to damage and disorient enemies in the targeted area. Deals splash damage to all enemies around the target, attempting to inflict the Internal Bleeding status. Enemies that are already Bleeding instead are inflicted with the Slow status. Enemies that are Vulnerable take additional damage.

  • Shattering Blast

Shotgun Skill. Fires an explosive shot at an enemy, tearing apart their defenses as well as their bodies. Deals physical damage to a single enemy, attempting to inflict the Internal Bleeding status. If the target is already Bleeding, instead inflicts the Vulnerable Status. Enemies that are Slowed take additional damage.

  • Lead Barrage

Gatling Gun Skill. The user fires a quick burst from their Gatling Gun, knocking back enemies around them. Deals moderate physical damage to all enemies in an area around the user, knocking them back and inflicting the Slow Status.

  • Spray and Pray

Gatling Gun Skill. The user unleashes a hail of gunfire with their Gatling Gun, saturating a wide area with fire. Rapidly fires at all enemies in the target area, hitting multiple times in quick succession but with a low accuracy rate. Each enemy within the targeted area can be struck by each volley, but the chance to hit each enemy is calculated separately. The chance to hit is increased by the level of the skill used. Each hit has a chance of inflicting the Internal Bleeding status.

  • Pyrrhic Rainstorm

Gatling Gun Skill. The user unleashes a massive hail of gunfire at the targeted location, dealing heavy damage over time to all enemies that remain within it. Each hit has a chance to inflict the Vulnerable status.
