First tier

Merchant

First tier Base level 1 to 50 Merchant line

The Merchant is the "Bruiser" of the first jobs. Merchants aim to survive their fights in the simplest way possible: kill the enemy fast enough that it can't kill you. Merchant skills give options to boost Hit, Crit, and ASPD all very early in the game, and have multiple skills capable of dealing Critical damage and inflicting the Stun status, briefly disabling enemies to buy the extra few seconds needed to close out a fight before it gets too hairy.

This of course is also the Merchant's primary weakness. With all of its skills aimed toward offensive utility, it has difficulty engaging in prolonged encounters, especially those with multiple enemies at a time. And though it boasts greater ASPD and auto-attack damage than other classes, its damage skills are extremely SP intensive, making the leveling experience very "stop and go" until they can secure a decent beginning equipment set.

Merchants have two key "status effects": Stun and Extort.

The Stun status is exactly what it sounds like: it disables the enemy for a short time, typically two or three seconds. Stunned enemies cannot act, and their flee is reduced to zero.

The Extort status isn't really a status, per se. Instead, it functions using the Spirit Sphere system. By using the Extort skill, Merchants build up stacks (or "coins," if you like) which can be expended to boost the damage of other skills.

Skill list

Skills

Skill names and effects are kept in English because that is how they appear in game.

  • Axe Mastery

Boosts the damage and Hit rate of One and Two-Handed Axes.

  • Axe Boomerang

Throws the user's axe at a distant target, knocking them back a few cells and also having a chance to inflict the Stun status.

  • Crush

Delivers a single heavy blow to the target with a chance to Stun them. This skill gets bonus damage and Crit Rate against enemies that are already stunned.

  • Extort

Deals a small amount of damage to an enemy, increasing the user's "coin" count by one. The coins provide a minimal ATK boost, but are mostly used as a resource to be consumed by other skills.

  • Mammonite

Deals heavy damage to a single target. If the user has any stacks of Extort, consumes all of them to do massively improved damage and guarantees the skill will Crit.

  • Crazy Uproar

Consumes Extort stacks to whip the party into an uproar, increasing the ASPD and Crit Rate of all members.
